Has someone on the planning committee been in touch with Aerostitch? They are located in Duluth and in the past, they have provided discounts on their riding suits when you go in to their warehouse to order a suit. It would be an advantage for the attendees if something special was worked out with them.

Didn't know about the discount. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm planning on stopping there after the Elkhart Lake vintage motorcycle races in June.

Bought my Roadcrafter 5 years ago and the General Manager (Andy Goldfine) says they don't advertise it but most apparel bought during a visit to the factory you get 10% off!!! :D Apparently it always been a tradition !!

Any confirmation that Aerostitch will be a vendor?
Last communication I had with them, they were going to try to be there and setup. But, I haven't had a firm commitment.

Thank you......trying to decide if I get something for the ride up or make due with what I have and then pick something up from them for the ride home. If they are not on site I guess I can always ride over to the shop. This will be my first event and am looking forward to it.

Its a short 1 mile ride from Aerostich to the Radisson and you can browse and take in the industrial ambience while there, it's a pretty unique place.

Yeah that's what the Aerostich place has ambiance  Great products and worth the trip over to their shop just to see their spartan setup.

Aerostich will have a presence as a vendor at CCR, but the details are still in the works.

Here's what I think is going to happen. They are going to put some stuff on display in our Vendor room, but be selling stuff out of their shop, because it is so close.

Y'all may not realize this, but as great as this company is, it's a smaller operation. Frankly, I don't think they have the manpower to operate the store and have folks hangin' at CCR.

Also, despite making some of the best gear on the planet, these are real humble folks. The question back to me when I asked if they'd be a vendor was, "Why would people want us to come display our stuff at your event?" I was a bit taken back, almost lost for words - and that doesn't happen often.

So, I've told them NO PROBLEM. People are going to want to come by and check the place out.

Some of the Board of Directors was at the Aerostich property early this year. Since then, I've kept in close contact with them. Basically, their facility has gone through a complete renovation. I've been told I won't even recognize it! Lynn has been cracking the whip on her contractors all summer, reminding them that they're 'hosting' a big motorcycle group the week before Labor Day.

So, you can stop in and do some shoppin' at your leisure, but we're going to have a sign-up sheet in the vendor area, for folks who want to see the full tour on Friday.

So, if you want to see how and where your suit is made, and by who, sign up in the vendor area. We'll coordinate all the details (only so many can go through the space at a time) and we'll probably announce final details at the banquet Thursday.

How's that for a full debrief?

I hope our Aerostich friends are following this thread. :) I'd really like to know if they plan on doing anything product promotion-wise in addition to having a presence at CCR and doing tours.

Now that I know I am attending CCR, I'm going to visit Aerostich while I'm there. My plan - such as it is - is to leave them my Darien jacket and pants for some minor repairs and go home with a new one-piece Roadcrafter, assuming they have my size/color in stock. I haven't decided between their original-weight suit or either of the two new lighter suits but I'll know when I see the suit up close and personal.

A factory tour is a great idea. Highly recommended.

they must be renovating in the back rooms, I was there 10 days ago and it looked like the same humble place it has always been, great younger staff at the front desk though.

Yeah - all the renovations are behind-the-scenes stuff - making a very quirky and apparently less than fully functional space into something you can actually run a business from.

There is apparently some question about how much to change out in front. Do you keep it the 'same humble place' customers have known - where customers walk through the employee kitchen to get to the 'sales floor' or do you update it to a sexy retail space.

Ssoooo......

Everyone knows how big Aerostich is supporting us this year, right?

1) They've given us a 50% Discount voucher to put on the auction!

2) They've graciously invited us to tour their facilities.

3) They will have a vending presence at our event.

but wait, there's more.......

4) They're offering a 10% discount on purchases made in the store (wear your badge!).

5) They will be holding a drawing for a $100 gift certificate!

If y'all ever thought of buying some gear from them, this seems like an ideal time.

OK, so this means I'll be hovering around the table where item #1 is located, AND I won't be making a potential Roadcrafter purchase until after the auction and the drawing. :)

What night is the auction...? I may have to go to Aerostich on the way out of town.
