I have a real nice led liscense plate holder that I want to add to the LT. Can anyone tell me how to access the rear brake harness, which wire is ground and which one is the brake wire. How does the rear brake/light asm come off? :)

Depending on the year of the bike ....open both sidebags. There will ether be 2 long silver bolts or a gap in the back of the bike side of the sidebag with a bolt in there. pull the bolts from bothsides and pull the light out. DO NOT !! use the center light as it is monitered by the ABS use ether light just left or right of center. You can ground anywhere .

On the K1200LT there is a total of 5 bulbs in the tail light assembly. The outermost ones are the turn signals, and the center one is the license plate lamp.

You want to connect the license plate holder light to either of the other two. Connect the ground wire for the auxiliary LED to the the brown wire and the power lead to the gray/blue wire if you want it to be a tail light, or to the gray/yellow wire for a brake light.

Note that the tail and brake spade lugs on the light bulb sockets are narrower than the standard size: they are 0.156" wide, not the more normal 0.25" wide. You can buy matching terminals at an electronic supply house.

Be sure to click on Jerry's link in the post above. I have a set of his lights and they are just downright blinding awesome. In running mode, they have a slight flicker. You kind of catch it out of the side of your eye, it makes you look. These lights just blow the hyper lights away.
