Thanks for letting us know. That's a serious bummer. It sucks that neither BMW nor the dealers seem to be on top of this. The least they could do is communicate clearly - I understand that some of this is out of their control. I'm assuming they couldn't give you an estimate of when you could get the bike you really want.
Just got words from my dealer that the current price for the radio is $512.20. My RT is prepped for the radio, and I may or may not do the retrofit. Have a few things to think about.
Guys: I haven't tried the new radio system, but I have a '17 RT. I use JBL helmet speakers and Cardo's Packtalk Slim. If I just hook it too my phone and listen to my iTunes and recorded CDs, it sounds fantastic. I can use verbal commands for "next track" "volume up/down" etc. to control it. I tried running bluetooth through the BMW system for a year. The sound was rubbish. I thought it was the helmet speakers, but nope! It was BMW's very minimal quality preamps. Yuk. So, I just use verbal commands and my phone. Works better for me.

You guys who need your phone connected to use GPS? I hope the new system works better than the old one.

BTW: I also used molded ear plugs...for years. My old ones were OK. Made of soft, pliable stuff and fit was pretty good. I had them trim down the thickness a little so my helmet wouldn't squash the plugs against my ears. After 5 years and a replacement cord, they finally gave up the ghost. I bought some new clear ones made of harder plastic. They're murder on my ears. 50 miles and I'm done with them. They sound nice, but not worth the pain.

I'm about to leave the RT community after 4 bikes in a row. GSA is at the dealer all paid for. I'm just wait for decent weather to take my trade up there. I know wind noise is an issue with these. I'm determined to solve it because I've been deliriously happy with just my phone and Cardo helmet speakers...no ear plugs needed. Aeroflow Tall windscreen is the bomb on a '13+ 1200RTL.

Was at the dealer again today (yes...again) and saw another bike setup for delivery that has ACC. Really looks like the shortage is over.

Picked up my ordered 2022 RT 719 yesterday. I was told that the bike was coming in without ACC after I ordered it. I was shown a letter from the factory alerting the dealer. I actually pulled my deposit and decided to wait. The bike came in with ACC installed and I ended up purchasing it. I use this feature on both of my cars so I now expect it and am instantly used to it on my bike.

Just a wee heads up guys, I took my bike in today for its second service and the service manager told me that the retrofit ACC kit I ordered back in early January has finally arrived! They are going to fit it today alongside the service, so just over five months from ordering, it is here, there is hope! :giggle:

Was really surprised the other day when at very low speed without ACC engaged a car move into my lane. The bike braked very hard and stopped a collision. WOW. I would have missed it that fast.
If thats the ACC in action then very worth it.

Hi,
Sorry for asking so late.
I'm in Carnoustie, can you advise me who the BMW dealer you are getting you the parts and how much to retrofit?
I just bought a 22 without the ACC but now heading on a long trim in June so it might come in handy.
Hope you can help
Sid
