Does anyone have info to share about the availability of ACC? What I hear from the dealer(s) is that BMW is not making bikes with it right now - I've heard two different stories on why (chip shortage and an issue with a flooded plant in Austria). Any info on when it will become available again? My local dealers don't know.

I've held off on the radio so far, but I might get that done too. I think this same parts guy has a parts list for the radio retrofit. I'll try to get that too.
I use a Sena and S-Plug ear buds and have always used my Zumo for music. The App will allow that to be used via the bike so I have 2 options. I had a couple goldwings and they all came with the speakers/radio/etc as part of the basic package but I found that I never used it because it just wasn't as good as helmet speakers or ear buds.

However, at the price point we pay for these bikes, we should get that whether we use it or not.

This is a bit of a tangent, but since it's my post originally I think that's ok :): Someone else just recommended the PlugUp stuff to me yesterday. How is the sound quality on the S-Plugs? Did you go with single or dual speakers?

Single, been using them for years... I prefer over typical ear buds as they go into your ear canal and even foam ear plugs would hurt after a while..these do not... the single drivers are more than enough to me...

Was just at the dealer here and got more info on the ACC upgrade. There's actually a kit in the parts system for this retrofit, so it should be easy for the parts guys to find. The guy here was surprised that any other parts guy would have trouble finding it...

Anyway, attached is a pdf showing the kit and all of the individual parts and the cost. The scan is great because I used my phone, but it should be fine to print and hand to your local dealers. Hope this helps!

I asked for the same for the radio retrofit, but that one is only one part ($560 including CA tax) and didn't seem worth printing out. It's just the module (you have to have the audio prep kit installed already).

I ordered my bike in February with everything radio/TPMS and finally came in July without the radio. Last month the radio became available and I got it. I'm sure you are aware that the suspension factory in Europe was out of commission for a while due to flood conditions. The shortage of Chips its also affecting the production of auto radios which some cars has been delivered with no radios. We also got hit with port issues. All these are contributing factors to delay the delivery dates. As far as the Cruise control, works perfect. Most like the bike will come with no radio installed but its very easy to install and just need to be programmed by the Dealer.

Wow. The most expensive part of the kit is the ridiculously expensive left handlebar switch complex.
The dealer had already ordered it, all I did was put down first deposit..
select package..$4,250
191 dynamic ESA
730 comfort
269 audio system prep
$300.00 for radio prep...the part is almost $900.00 and about 5 hours labor
I have a '22 R1250RT and it originally came with radio prep and my dealer added the radio from the parts department. The time it took to get it installed was less than an hour and the part was $450. I think you are working with the wrong dealer.

My dealer does not know anything about these questions, I took them the parts list for the ACC today and also told them about the radio, All they get is a bulletin about these issues and it never goes past that it seems...Other than that the bike is fun to ride.

Just got words from my dealer that the current price for the radio is $512.20. My RT is prepped for the radio, and I may or may not do the retrofit. Have a few things to think about.

Thank you very much for providing this information.
I am keen to retrofit ACC to my bike and I have passed your list of parts to my dealer here in the UK who has now ordered these parts for me but currently, there is no availability of the parts and no note of when they may become available.
It's now a waiting game! :)

I placed my order a few months ago and now its unknown. I was supposed to get my sensor a few weeks ago but now its up in the air. Has anyone received their sensors yet for the ACC?
I have heard nothing more since I ordered.
Dang thats a bummer we're all stuck in the waiting game! I'm going to follow up with my dealer and hopefully they have some good news or an update for me.

when i was looking at buying a 2022 rt 2 months ago i was told the ACC could be retrofitted for $800 usd and the radio for $1200 USD whenever the parts become available. What i did instead was found new 2021 which had the ACC but no radio which i assume was built before the chip crisis wasnt as widespread.

That's what I ended up doing too. Not sure there would be any left at this point, but who knows.
I’m at the dealer today and there’s a new bike sitting in the delivery zone that has ACC. Seems like the shortage may be over.
