Active Cruise Control on 2022 R1250RT

Does anyone have info to share about the availability of ACC? What I hear from the dealer(s) is that BMW is not making bikes with it right now - I've heard two different stories on why (chip shortage and an issue with a flooded plant in Austria). Any info on when it will become available again? My local dealers don't know.

The dealer had already ordered it, all I did was put down first deposit..
select package..$4,250
191 dynamic ESA
730 comfort
269 audio system prep
$300.00 for radio prep...the part is almost $900.00 and about 5 hours labor
I left the 1250 R/T motorcycle at the dealer; it did not have adaptative cruise control or a stereo system. I had insurance lyft ride to the dealer and was ready to ride away...Im a little pissed it was a 3+month wait now I am back to square one...
Thanks for letting us know. That's a serious bummer. It sucks that neither BMW nor the dealers seem to be on top of this. The least they could do is communicate clearly - I understand that some of this is out of their control. I'm assuming they couldn't give you an estimate of when you could get the bike you really want.

The "select package" $4,250 "premium package" $4,500...the websight order page does not show a select package...just the premium...I see the radio is a separate option, I thought it was part of the "package"...the Super Duke GT is looking good again...

Did the bike have the adaptive cruise component below the lights, but no chips to make it work? or not physical component at all?
no, just a blank...the unit is not there...I might go back a pick it up tomorrow I been waiting months for this thing..

Perhaps they will be able to add it to the bike without much trouble when components are available

I got my 2021 RT in August with adaptive cruise control and if you do lots of traveling it is worth the wait. It is really nice, especially on the interstates.

My RT came with "Radio Prep" and I had my radio installed last month. Cost is $600 + tax and only took less than an hour.

This makes me fearful to order a new RT... having it show up without a key feature for me and having no path to get it installed. Is there language in the order you got that stated components/features could be removed due to availability?

If it's anything like previous orders, you want to approve the detailed option code+P/N version of the order form to make sure that the ACC P/N is on there (e.g., OPTION 201 includes P/N A, P/N B, etc). If you order something and they can't provide it or build it for some reason, typically it just gets delayed to the point where it never gets built.

Check with your dealer what they can do for you and what's the current policy.

Don't order, look for existing stock in the US... heck I got my 21 a month ago looking for a 22 but the 21 was a little cheaper and it was probably stocked before the chip issues. It didn't have radio stuff but I don't care about that.. heck, I'm okay with just CC, not really needing ACC but... still a few out there and maybe even worth it to have it shipped to you. They delivered mine from 200+ miles away and took my trade in in the process.

I picked it up today and got in about 100 miles with a lot of curvy road, my bike does not have active cruise control and I think I can live without it although I wish it was installed. The R/T is fun and the wind protect is A+ comfort level is a 9 especially comparing to my Dragster RR that I would give a 4...I will make a video pretty soon.

What type of discount did you get for the ACC not included in the package that you paid for
I went back to my local dealer today. They have had a '21 white RT with ACC that I've been tempted by, but I thought I really wanted blue. Well, today they had received a blue bike (no ACC and reserved for someone else) and it turns out I don't like the color as much in person (it's darker than I expected). After staring at them side by side for a while I decided to go with the white one rather than putting a deposit on another blue one they have in transit. So @Mellow is right that there are bikes out there.

I also heard from the dealer that they've done a bunch of research on this topic. They delivered a bike to a seemingly very annoyed customer and that put their parts guy on the project of figuring out if a retrofit is possible. The parts guy seems sharp and he swears that it is possible and he has figured out all of the parts, some of which will not become available until late January. So @MasterSpin77 there may be hope yet. I'll be back in there at least once in the coming days (to pick up my bike!), so let me know if you want me to try to get that parts list. I should probably get it and share it here as a resource for others.

Side note: the financing on 2021 bikes is 1.9% and on 2022 it's 4.9%. I was waffling on whether to finance or not at 4.9%, but at 1.9% it's a no-brainer. So that was a nice little bonus.

the premium package is $4,500...the "select" package is the $4,200 that my bike has and all of the other 2022 models on cycle trader minus one...The "build your bike" on the BMW web site does not have select just "premium package" so Im thinking because of the chip shortage the premium package has become the select package...

Thanks, and yes, the parts list would be most triumphant!...we know more about the bike than the dealers, I was getting a little annoyed..they can't answer any questions on these subjects and I am going back tomorrow to press them about the stereo again I told them I want it installed on my first service...pretty sure no one even is looking into it, thanks for your help.

I've held off on the radio so far, but I might get that done too. I think this same parts guy has a parts list for the radio retrofit. I'll try to get that too.
