Hi everyone! I just sold my Goldwing and am looking to get a bike that's more fun to ride

I'm looking at a 1999 K1200LTi that the owner says has no radio or top box. What am I looking at ballpark to get a new radio? Anything I should look for? It's only got 34K miles, looks very clean and has a Rinewest performance chip and Remus Ti exhaust.

I hope I can get it, it looks to be just what I want.

Well if it is missing the radio - you would be better served installing a Marine Jensen (many posts here on how to do that) for about $200 as opposed to $870 for a new one from the dealers. Or you might find one from a wrecking yard. Best bet is the wrecking yard (Beemerboneyard.com) for a top box as well as dealer prices and availablity are not good.

I would be more concerned about the missing top box than the radio. I do use the radio around town to listen to NPR but I listen to either audio books or music on an ipod touch through molded ear buds.

Quieter, higher fidelity, and rider/passenger can listen to their own stuff.
