This video is shot near the Glamis sand dunes in southern California. It is north east of Yuma Arizona and southeast of the Salton Sea . If you have never seen or heard of it the place is quit remarkable, especially during the Thanksgiving thru New Years breaks. Take a Mad Max movie and spice it up with modern machinery and motorhomes. During the Thanksgiving weekend 7 to 800,000 people converge on the desert. This is a typical day. We stopped taking the kids because it is getting too crazy.

Some how someone changed the video link to a JPG. I thought I was the only one that could edit the thread. I have been trying to upload the video but I guess that the video file is not a valid format for these posts. Does anyone know how to upload a video as an attachment?

I have this video clip on my PC but the server won't let me upload it as an attachment. Can this be done?

How big is it?

You can create a free account here: http://www.putfile.com

That will accept up to 25Mb file size, then make a link to it.

Is it Full Size or a Remote Control

With that long antenna coming out it appears that this was a Remote Control car and photographed using a long lens. That would compress the distance and give the impression of real. I could be wrong but that critter looks just like one I used to race many years ago.

No, it was real. I work with a person who is heavy into that stuff, and goes to Glamis many times a year. He knew the spot well.

They put long "flag poles" on vehicles running the dunes so that someone coming up one side of a dune knows something else is coming from the other side. It is a safety device to reduce collisions.

It's a law out here that all off road vehicles have a Green sticker registered and ride with a whip ,flag attached
