I decided to save a few bucks and perform the 36k service myself.

Here are the valve measurements.

Intake (Spec is .006" - .008" or .152mm - .203mm)
V1 .006" or .152mm
V2 .006" or .152mm

V3 .006" or .152mm
V4 .006" or .152mm

V5 .005" or .127mm
V6 .008" or .203mm

V7 .006" or .152mm
V8 .005" or .127mm

Exhaust (Spec is .010" - .012" or .154mm - .305mm)
V1-V9 .009" or .229mm

Any suggestions on thoughts on these settings?

Should I make any changes or leave them alone until the 48k service?

I would change all intakes except the one at.008. This will give you all valves at .007 and .008. As long as you are going to pull the cam then change them. You might be able to swap buckets around and not have to buy so many. Do the exhause valve at the same time. This might buy you another 36k before next adjustment if ever.

One would think the clearance between cam lobe and valve would increase.

Why do you think the exhaust is below the minimum spec?

k-bike engines wear smaller,never larger.
You state the exhaust is .009",range is .010-.012"
Pull the cams and go one step thinner on the buckets.

On just about any cam over valve type engine, the clearances wear tighter, as the normal wear is the valve head to seat wear, NOT cam wear. Thus, the valve sinks lower in the head, tightening up the clearance.

If you ever get valves wearing looser, you have an expensive problem starting, maybe already ready to suck your wallet down a little. The only way they will loosen up is for either the cam lobes/followers to wear, or even worse, the cam bearings in the head. The former is expensive, the later VERY expensive.

Thought I would provide an update to all of you.

I swapped out 4 tappets and purchased 12.

The tappets are now all in the high end of spec.

After the swaps and additions, all intakes valves are .008" and exhaust are .012".
