Hello All,
I just bought my brand new used 2000LT 2 weeks ago with 23926 miles and as I drove it home it hit 24000 miles. There is no better way for me to bond with my new bike then to perform the 24K service check. In the past 2 weeks I have been reading and getting all the items needed for the check. I figure I would post my intentions on this website to give other people the opportunity for a local maintenance get together…..lol. (I forgot what the forum called them)
If anyone in the Denver area is interested in teaching, learning, or helping me do this 24K service check, please reach out to my email and we can coordinate some time. I would like to be done with this by the end of March so there is plenty of time.

Thank you for the welcome. I have been on another forum like this before but it is a Land Rover forum. I have made some really good friends and was very happy to find another web site to learn from people who love the same things that I do and have been there and done that....

I have mine apart for major service (all plastic, fuel tank, etc. off).

What help do you need?

If there is no one closer to you, ping me.

Well the bonding is complete. I finished the 24K service check. Changed out two value buckets, changed out all brake lines, fixed the speedometer, bought a new front tire and I only have 5 screws left. I only have one thing to say, who said “let’s put the air filter under the gas tanks.” The Germans lost points with that one……..

Many days late, but congrats on your work. :toast: That is a challenge without help from others the first time. Breakfast is Saturdays at Red Rocks Grill in Morrison at 8:30. Lots of guys there that can help and to ride with. See you there!

BTW, Triumph's Tiger 800XC has the air filter under the tank. We did a group buy to get a pre-filter from AU. It is a glorified sock that fits over the intake like a dirt bike filter. Yep, it needs to be pre-oiled and cleaned just like a dirt bike filter, but it is very effective. BMW shoulda thought of this option :yeah:
