I am, as always, just curious - - - - why did they replaced the rim?

Brake fluid is corrosive and had leaked onto the rim and stained it. I asked the dealer to check for staining as I had heard others also got a new rim covered under the warranty.

I think motor 32 had commented that the brake fluid that had dripped onto the rim/tyre, so I expect it is to make sure that the wheels are in perfect condition.

This is what I've heard from the NHTSA guy:

"We have been in contact with BMW and it sounds like they are working on a more comprehensive solution."

Not much but it sounds better than a band-aid.

Just heard from my dealer. Bmw is replacing all 2019 Hayes caliber assemblies in RT’s with Brembos under warranty.

I've also heard this but waiting to see something official from BMW. This will be costly but the right thing to do.
