Now I'll have to read the press release to see what other changes/tweaks/improvements they did.

Also, I haven't been keeping track, but has BMW finally got the final drive issue resolved? Are there any reports of failed drives?

A quality paint job is probably cheaper . . .

And I'm guessing the arm rests (whenever they actually materialize) and the side handles will be retrofittable to the 2012 bikes.

The other changes sound like simple software, so that should be upgradeable too.

Really, this is just a minor paint & refresh, nothing very significant at all. I think there's probably more benefit to whatever other minor changes have already been added into the standard production bikes since the first ones shipped over a year ago.

I don't see why they wouldn't. I doubt they changed the frame or mounting points. I'm guessing they just made the handles with a larger swoop. Maybe they added some mounts for the optional arm rests to these parts, and maybe not.

The current parts list at $181.65 each, so I imagine the new parts would be a similar price. I imagine we'll know more in August when the bikes start getting built and delivered, and the parts lists start getting updated.

Maybe you could just get a few sets of body panels, then change them out to whatever color you felt like riding that day.

Minor changes looks good,I see something shiny on the frame under the side cover, thats where i put my can buss bypass powerlet bracket i designed on my bike.

Yes it looks to be mounted to the lower fairing.

Highway bars on the last one with the lights? Different pipes? Passenger arm rests? Wonder if this is an option package of sorts.
