I just purchased an 06 R1200RT today. The seller informed me that his local dealer declared the ESA motor as dead after trying to shock it back to life. Dealer quoted $2500 replacement. I got a very fair deal on this Rt with 10000 miles.
I rushed off to eBay in search of a replacement which I found and bought for $400 + shipping. Things are looking up!
Nothing I have ever done on a BMW has proved to be this simple and I am trying to anticipate what lies around the next bend.
Any insights from you knowledgable members? What shoe may drop? Software recognition? Special tools? Anticipated labor hours?
I appreciate any input.
