OK I guess I'll answer this post as well. There is a set of interlocks, side stand up, bike in neutral, brakes released, and not on a slope (alarm has a tilt detector). If an interlock is activated the symbol on the dash will flash and the motor will not run on the EHCS. If you are not getting the flash and the motor is not running, then the motor brushes could be shot. If the motor is running and it only partially lifts the bike and drops back down she has leaked out enough oil to be below 130 ml.
