My speedo was approximately 8% overstating at 110 Kph. Following John Zeiler's advice I went to the trouble of getting into the instrument panel from the front and resetting the needle. My needle now sits just a bit more than 1 full width back past the thick white zero line (towards the negative). Test run with my GPS as a reference and at 60 Kph it is spot-on, at 110 Kph it still overstates by 2 Kph, good enough for me. It feels as though the needle is on a very small spline, so another notch back would be too far I suspect. The odometer is accurate when checked against the GPS, so the 2 instruments must do separate things with the same input signal (I guess). Hope this info helps others.

by law odometers have to be accurate - at least in North America
