New to the site and new to BMW K. Only owned it 4 weeks.

Just saw a recommendation to remove the trunk on another thread.

Just looked at the bike and I figure the mounting bolt heads are just below that nice new trunk liner material.

Can anyone give me instructions?

Good question here might also be which is best Owners Manual on CD or printed manual?

Thanks

Lift the front seat.

Remove two bolts at the forward edge of the back seat. Disconnect the plug for its seat heat and slide the seat off.

Under the rear seat there are two large round electrical plugs to disconnect and the trunk should be free.

After removing the rear seat and unplugging the electrical connections open the trunk and remove the screw in the rear left corner that holds the end of the strap that supports the top when it's open. Release the strap from the retainer and hold on as it retracts. You can then rest the open top on the back of the front seat. Now remove the trunk liner. It's held by some Velcro strips at the top front and two tabs in the rear. The tabs are next to the two locking claws and simply snap into slots in the latch hardware. Get a good light and look down along the top of the rear edge of the liner and you'll see their location. Take a small thin blade screw driver and insert it in the slot where the tabs are located thus releasing the locking tab. Lift up and out it will come. In the bottom of the trunk you will see the four bolts that hold the trunk in place.
