locking up the trailer

Im gonna take my new to me bushtech on a trip next week, was thinking when I get to hotel I would leave the trailer there while we go ride the hill country... in the past I had a unigo and it would fit in the hotel room... but now I gotta figure out a good way to secure the trailer.. any suggestions? I do not know if the hotel will have place I can chain it to or not.

Re: locking up the trailer

I use a Python cable lock and I route it through both wheels and over the top and snug it up. The latch on the Bustec is very easy to defeat just try to lift the trailer (full) with the lip of the lid (at least that is how I broke mine). It can be carried off but no one will roll it away or open it. You can add a similar cable lock to the hitch hiem joint to secure it to an object but I usually just leave it locked to the bike.

Re: locking up the trailer

A friend of mine used to take the wheels off his trailer and leave them in the hotel room (as well as chaining the trailer to something solid......)

Re: locking up the trailer

Like John I used a 6 foot cable & lock through the wheels. I also try to park it next to a pole to wrap the cable around. If next to a pole I only lock 1 wheel.
