HF Tag Along Trailer Modification

I have a HF Tag Along Trailer and I really like it. However as we approach winter I am looking at an upgrade. I want to replace the 8" wheels with a set of 12" wheels. This will require either installing lift blocks on the spring to provide the needed clearance from the side of the box/fenders, or to replace the axel with a wider unit to space out the wheels. I think the 12" wheels will fit better with the look of the trailer.

Has anyone with a trailer done this type of modification before? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: HF Tag Along Trailer Modification

Well trailer modifications complete. I lowered the suspension, widened the width of the axel, installed new 12" aluminum wheels and radial tires, and raised the fenders.

It worked great and took it up to the BMW Finger Lakes Rally in September.

I have attached some photos for your enjoyment.
