5 way, round trailer plug wiring

Okay boys and girls, I got a UniGo trailer, Dauntless hitch, and the wiring harness. The previous owner put a 5-way round trailer plug. I get right turn and brilliant brake but no left turn. Anybody have to correct pinout. This is my other project to get working before going to CCR.

Thanks in advance.

You might want to print this out and keep it on the bike or trailer
in case you ever have a problem on the road.

Re: 5 way, round trailer plug wiring

Thanks Hans. I had that info from before. My problem was things weren't matching up between the 5-way round connector between the bike wiring harness and the UniGo harness.

The original problem was the left turn signal on the trailer wouldn't work. So I opened up the male connector and found the yellow wire broken off where it makes it's conneciton. Everything had been cut way back, so I shortened all the wires up and got everything off one position counter clockwise. So one I got the yellow wire reconnected and everything cleaned up an back together, the left turn signal still wasn't working. I had all the right voltages all the way up to the socket. What the heck is going on? I did a LED swap from one side to the other with no change in symptoms. Wait a minute, did I say LED? Yup. There is a + and - side to the LEDs. Turned the LED on the left side upside down in the socket and VOILA everythings working. One more item cleaned off the before CCR to do list.

Now if I can just figure out what's going on with that stinking Baehr unit.

Re: 5 way, round trailer plug wiring

I am looing for a trailer, how much did it cost and are there any dealers in Canada for the Uni-go? In total what would a set up be worth. The Boss wants new flooring instead.. She has her priorities all mixed up.

Re: 5 way, round trailer plug wiring

Dar,

At present there are no UniGo dealers in Canada. The UniGo is a kit trailer so I'm sure you could purchase the kit and have it delivered to you. You can find everything you need to via the UniGo website.

Dar, nothing against Uni-Go but have you looked at Third Wheel Trailers yet? Canadian company located in Aylmer, Ontario. I will be ordering one in the near future after CCR.
