Third Wheel Trailers - Any Experience

Just saw a web page on "Third Wheel Trailers' our of Ontario, Canada. Seems similar to Uni-go but less cost. Has anyone out there used one? any thoughts?

Re: Third Wheel Trailers - Any Experience

I don't have any experience with the company but just looking at the specs and pictures I can offer some comparisons. The trailer is 10 pounds heavier and has 10 pounds less load capacity than the Uni-go but it appears to have more volume. It's dimensions, shape and clam shell design are probably a little more accommodating to packing larger objects but it may make it more difficult to utilize the upper half of the volume without tying things together. The Third Wheel has more ground clearance but the Uni-go has a lower center of gravity.

The costs are probably about a push though it's not clear if the prices are listed in US or Canadian dollars. The exchange rate is 8% but if there are no US dealers there could be a VAT charge.

My last comment is aesthetics which is subjective. I realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder but IMHO the Uni-go wins in that category. YMMV

There's been lots of discussion on this forum in the past re. single wheel trailers - if you dig a little you should be able to find it. Not sure if it was specific to that brand.
