Question HF Trailers (none available!!!)

Hi all;

FYI

I called Harbor Freight to see about a trailer ( 42708-4VGA) that was on sale till Marck 23,2009.

Seems that there is none available anywhere!!!! Sold out!!

I was calling to order one ( out of Albany, closest store to Montreal) and pick it up on Saturday.

They said that there should (maybe) some available in the next three [email protected]@

Hopefully there will be available soon so I can make a cargo for my K 1200 LT.

Seems like everyone is making cargo trailers for their bikes!!!!

Regards,

Bowdon

rab1967;

I like the look but with the HF and an old sears cargo carrier, I can put this together for around $ 400.00.

If they had a $ 400 dollar model, it might be an option ( budget and all!!!).

Thanks for the info.

I worked with a ton of Canadians before Nortel kicked us all out here in texas. According to one of them, if you call Harbor Freight headquarters at 805-388-1000 supposedly they will ship to you...

wyliedave;

I am sure you are aware of how Nortel is doing ( almost gone!!!).

I know HF will ship it to me, but the cost of shipping, custom clearence (UPS) asd the taxes on top of that equal the cost of the trailer!!!! ( checked).

I will have to wait till the Albany wharehouse gets some more ( hopefully) in about three weeks.

Re: HF Trailers (none available!!!)

I built one a year ago and drove to Lima, OH and bought the floor model at a discount. They are not allowed to sell assembled units so I talked the manager in to removing the wheel and I reassembled it. This is an opinion but after running in to the same thing you are, it is my belief that everyone is replacing this bolt together unit with larger welded units. The new Sears Cargo carrier is a little more slender than the old one. If you are cutting down the axle, you may want to measure for fit. Good luck!

Go with this instead - it's well worth the extra money:
