Hannigan K1200LT Aux gas tank ?

Hi, question for K1200LT Hannigan trike owners. When transferring gas from aux tank to main tank do you need to have the machine off, using just the iginition on to transfer OR can you turn the switch on while riding down the road? I thank you in advance for your feedback.

You can transfer fuel while traveling down the road.................

Thank you, we are having an issue with ours not pumping, the dealer was telling us that we had to pull over, turn key on and pump on and it will take about 20-30 minutes to pump.....whew not what I want to do! Needless to say Hannigan is sending out a new unit!

Starfighter is correct. Just wait until the low fuel light comes on then flip the switch to start transferring the gas from the Aux. tank to the main tank. Takes about 20 minutes but you should be able to do the transfer on the go.

Ditto. Don't know where the dealer got the idea that the trike had to be stationary to transfer fuel???

I agree with the other trike owners. I transfer fuel going down the road. Actually, is the only sensible way to do it! I wish there was a more visible indication that the pump was on, however. I have to scrunch over and look for the red light on the switch. Improvement needed!

If perchance you were serious about the fuel transfer pump indicator light, you could install a bigger one and a buzzer or horn or both...
