More Qs and As on K LT trike tires

It appears that the consensus is that the hot tire for the front of G-W trikes is the Michelin Pilot Activ rear tire [130/70x17" mounted backward. However, BMW puts a 120/70x17" tire on the front of K LTs.

I talked with Michelin today and got some size information on both sizes. It appears that the 130/70x17" Pilot Activ rear might work on the front of the LT trike. Comparison of dimensions follow:

Size Static Diam. Max. Width

120/70x17" Pilot Activ front 23.62" 5.28"
130/70x17" " " rear 24.17 5.59"

Any thoughts will be appreciated. From all I have heard and read, the rear Pilot Activ lasts longer and perhaps even stops better than standard front tires in the trike application. I would like to try it but seek your counsel.

I have had it on for the last 15,000 miles with no problem and it still looks like new. Go for it
