Hannigan Trike Lift

I finally took the plunge and bought a lift. I purchased the Atlas Hi-Rise 1500 Motorcycle/ATV Lift from Greg Smith Equipment. Will handle up to 1500 lbs and will raise it up to 43" high. With the extensions it is 51" wide and 88" long. However, Hannigan LT conversions are 47" inside to inside of the tire and about 57"-58" outside to outside of the tire. That didn't leave much of the tire on the lift so I modified the extensions to get the additional width I needed. I have attached a picture with the Golden Dragon on the lift.

Re: Hannigan Trike Lift

Nice setup. Can you give a little more detail on the modification. Like dimentions, Materials, How installed. And some closer pictures.

Thanks,

Re: Hannigan Trike Lift

I'll see if I can get some pictures this weekend. Materials are 2" square iron tube(Rack extension) and 1.5 inch solid iron bar(Goes through the racks and frame)

Re: Hannigan Trike Lift

Sorry it took so long to get the pictures back to you on the details of the extensions. The outside perimeter of the extension is 1.5" by 2.5" steel with 1" by 2" cross pieces. the bar is 1 and 3/8 inch solid steel. I had to drill one hole where the 2" by 2" frame piece crosses on the underside of the lift table. That frame piece is directly over the pivot for the scissor assembly and does not hamper anything when raising or lowering the lift. I use the table extensions that came with the lift for ramps. I welded a U shaped steel piece on the end so they hook on the end of the extensions. I have attached pictures to show these modifications. The table with the extensions is now 63 inches wide.

That's is very cool Randi. I might make an adapter for mine in case I get another visitor.

Talking Re: Hannigan Trike Lift

That garage looks so familiar! And that lift looks like some great re-engineering Randi! Now I know where to go if we need a lift in Bend!
