Trike Owners likes/dislikes

My wife has decided that she would like to get into motorcycling but feels more comfortable on a trike. What do you guys like and dislike about your LT trikes? Does it feel underpowered? I know the handling is different, but how is the ride? I have a HD Ultra but am afraid that triking it will only add to the heat issues as well as lacking hp. I am also looking at Goldwings but prefer the looks of the LT.

Smile Trike

Don't hesitate you will love the Trike plenty of power and lot's of fun. I have never regretted it after two years and 20,000 miles.

Talking Trike Likes, No Dislikes

I have had mine for just over 3 months. I've put over 8 thousand miles on her already. The LT Trike is not under powered and has towed my Aspen Trailer over 5 thousand of those miles. Very stable platform with independent suspension. Go for it. You will not be disappointed. The only downside is the gas mileage. I got the auxilary fuel tank. No Problems.

It is not wise to meddle in the affairs of Dragons for thou art crunchy and good with katsup.

I would love to see specific suggestions or even a link to a site for people contemplating going from a touring bike to a trike. Thanks in advance.

Trikes

Todd, you back on an Ultra? If you trike the LT you'll have the same ergo problems you had before.Ergos are the same as a non-triked bike.Hannigan builds the best trike period.I sold a 2003 Ultra triked by them and was thoroughly impressed with their product. All I would do with an 07 or newer HD is add a 103 kit to it.Talked with Ruthanne & Dave Hannigan at CCR,thwy've got a new 05 RoadGlide in yellow they are still trying to sell, definitley ready to make a deal on that one.We used to do DFT conversions at the shop I work at,but are now doing Motortrike kits.Niether one are engineered as well as Hannigan.

Hey Rich, I'm still waiting for the Ultra. Long story, dealer and MoCo have pushed my patience beyond its limit. Can safely say this will be my last new HD, unless they put a water cooled engine in a bagger. I realized the ergos would be the same but also noticed that the running boards Hannigan offers would give me a place to change leg positions. Right now everything is on hold. I will be looking at all the options this winter.
