Question Tie Down my LT?

I finally got my dream - a 2000 K1200LT. Now I am looking for a trailer to haul it on those rare occasions when I can't ride it there.

But my first question is - how the heck to you tie this thing down? It's plastic everywhere with nothing safe to latch onto. Are there hidden tie down spots? Also are there any other things/tricks/concerns I should be aware of in trailering such a heavy bike?

Thanks - Jack

I know how you feel Jack. I hauled mine home in the back of my pickup from Denver. Wife didn't want me riding in Denver and on the highway on July 4th weekend.

And that's a tough statement to argue with. You're a good man Jack!

Jack, I got the same light-hearted crap from the same guys when I asked the same question a couple of months ago. If you want to go somewhere (STC, CCR, etc.) on the bike but your wife/SO wants a car to go touring on her own while you're enjoying the bike, towing/hauling it is a good compromise. Everyone's happy, and you get to have the LT for all the festivities/activities while you're there.

I had seven ratchet straps on my LT when I trailered it to STC. That was 3 (maybe 4) too many. The docs that others pointed you to help a lot; your dealer may also provide some tips. Use soft straps where appropriate, keep the straps off the plastic, let the bike's suspension do its job.
