Helmet expectations

Helmets are require only if you have something to protect. I do not think helmets should be legislated but if you have a brain and want to keep it intact there is no better solution than a good helmet. I have developed a habit of wearing an armored jacket, leather waterproof boots or shoes and gloves.

I do not bounce as well as I once did. My wife call them bumper guards

I have to --

can't afford to lose any more brain cells than I apparently already have.

I'd also like to keep my vision and my hearing (what remains of it).

Always on a motorcycle, ever since I started riding over 20 years ago, whether required or not by state law. I was surprised when I moved to NC that bicycle riders have to wear a helmet by law - not sure that one makes as much sense.
