Vegas info needed

I am visiting las vegas. my wife and I are renting a motorcycle for a couple of days. I would love some information regarding best places to ride and best places to avoid. We know about Hoover dam and plan to ride there. we would love to find some back roads and avoid the freeways as much as possible.

thank you in advance for your help

Re: Vegas info needed

Northshore road along lake mead to the valley of fire is supposed to be nice. The ride up Mount Charleston should be good also.

Re: Vegas info needed

The ride is not particularly exciting, but if you're into landscapes, just outside the city is Red Rocks Park, One way loop road with beautiful scenery less than 20 miles from the Strip.

Custom sig temporarily unavaiulable while I think about it.

Re: Vegas info needed

We rented a harley yesterday and did mt. Charleston, lake mead drive, and the hoover dam. It was so hot. 95-100 for most of the day. It was cooler up on the mtn. But miserable back at the lower elevation. My wife did not enjoy it. originally I had the bike rented for two days but only kept it for one.

I've never rented a bike before... What do they ding you per day, if you don't mind me asking?

No problem. I rented a new ultra classic. Taxes and all incidentals totaled about $200 per day.

Re: Vegas info needed

Evaporative vests work great - as long as there is low humidity.
