Re: Yo MrBreeze

Thanks guys!
As a matter of fact, Just yesterday, I headed out of AZ in the early morning hours (it was still 90 degrees at 3am) headed to CA - first night Santa Barbara where temps were in the low 70's. Felt great! Today took some twisties and the coast highway up to Monterey. Marine layer was there for most of the day - temps in the mid-50's to mid 60's. Almost "cold" as I'm used to the 100+ Fabulous ride. Love the bike - gawd, she has so much power....so much fun to play in the twisties and 2 lane passing is a snap. The trip has been a blast and I'm only 2 day into a week+ trip. I think I'll need to do the radar detector as I had a couple close calls with a Sheriff and a CHP. If I got pulled over I would have tried the "it's my birthday"

Tomorrow is the Moto GP race at Laguna Seca, then where ever the roads take me. I'm thinking Yosemite and Lake Tahoe...

So no cake, but lots of riding! Turning 50 isn't all that bad when riding!

Thanks again guys!

Scott

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Don't you know it! Right in your back yard! Smart of you to live in SoCal!

Loved the 33 through Los Padres Ntl Forest - I'm guessing you ride that one a lot.

Also one of my favorite roads...!
And yes, a radar detector is a must have to reduce the opportunities of getting pulled over.

Re: Yo MrBreeze

A couple pics from the trip:
A bit shy of 3,000 miles. Ran about 38-40 mpg (but that wasn't the point - I was having fun....and spirited riding doesn't lend itself to high mpg)

Love, love, love the bike. Bringing it in to the dealer on Tuesday to have them investigate the fluid weeping from the lower right side of the engine.

Scott,
That is the "Avenue of the Giants" which is a 30 mile road that pretty much follows along near Hwy 101 south of Eureka. I caught it fairly early in the morning during the week, so I pretty much had it to myself so I could "play" in the trees - I actually turned around and road it twice as I could pretty much fly through there. It was awesome - smooth road, stately trees, cool temps, splashes of sunlight through the tree tops....didn't want to leave.

I understand why 37 million people call California home. Of course the traffic can be horrific (glad that lane-splitting is legal, or I may still be stuck out there)

I just may make it 37 million and one.

Riding home this morning i was behind a VERY dirty SUV. Someone wrote on the back window in the dirt.
"I wish my girlfriend was as dirty as this car"

Just don't get pulled over while you're out here. A simple U-turn infraction can be well over $350 after they add in all the fees and administrative costs . . .
