Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

Would be great to get together for some rides - it seems like the only groups are if you ride a Harley or a sport bike. There are some great day-rides here, and it would be fun to connect with other LT riders. Once the snow melts from the high country, it will be a great time to get out of the valley on the LT's.

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

Matt Kas is here riding almost every day. I was at Hideaway Grill in Cavecreek yesterday.
www.hideaway-usa.com

Today I rode to work.

In the past I organized Friday lunches mainly for the LT riders (open to all BMWs)

There are two BMW Clubs in the area having rides at the weekends. PM me if you need contacts.

GOAZ has a 9am Ride to Bartlett Lake followed by free lunch and tech seesion this Saturday.

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

You might want to check out the Rim Riders BMW club also, they are over 20 yrs old out thataways now. Good group of folks and they do a lot of rides/eats & meets/overnights in some cool places, none of which I've been able to participate in other than looking at the after-pics

I can get you a link if you can't find them.

Yeah, I almost made it to one of those! (Stupid Lottery Commission failed to provide me with the correct ticket, thus necessitating me having to work on that day.)

If you ever decide to do some more, though, I hope you'll let me know.

No reason we can't do both. I'll suggest:

Village Inn @11:45
10652 N 89th Pl
right off the 101at Shea Blvd, a block East on the North side
Scottsdale, AZ 85260
480-451-1962

Or some other place?

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

I'm up north in Anthem, but would love to attend rides in this area. I agree that most clubs and get-togethers involve HDs or sport bikes. My wife and I are planning to attend this one: www.azwildlifecenter.net. There's a ride starting in Peoria on Valentine's day and I'd like to NOT be the only BMW on the road .

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

Once Mansoon season comes in, you will be seeing mostly BMWs on the road around here, since Harleys and most Japanese bikes give off so much heat to the riders:-)

I will try to persuade my wife to ride on Valentine's day. It is a tough job since she usually says that riding is NOT good for her hair :-)

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

I am very interested in an LT riding group. I have checked out the other two AZ BMW riding clubs and they both have some great attributes, but I have trouble with some of the meeting times. Let's form up!

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

Haven't been on the forum for a while - been riding my newest toy, a Big Dog Pitbull. But as Matt says, as the hot weather moves in, I'll be riding the LT a lot more - heading up to the high country for day rides. It would be great to get some LT'ers together and ride. Anyone game?

High country is clear, just got back from the Red River Roundup, so give a shout out a couple of weeks so I can clear the calendar. Need to start soon as the temps will get hotter here in the valley.

I might be interested too. Make the shout public enough, and with enough advance notice!

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

I am interested also. Just got my "09" and will be looking for a new group of riders to hang with. Going up to the Payson area this morning for a break in ride. Nothing long, just got to get the rest of the 300 for service.
Hope to meet up with some of you soon.

Re: Anyone in Phoenix/Scottsdale area?

Had a great ride today. Up through Payson and Pine in to Strawberry. Lunch in Pine and a walk around their little art fair. Stopped in Payson at the airport for pie and a cold drink before the ride back to the valley.
Got my 300 miles for the first service out of the way. Now the real fun can begin......

Great to meet everyone today. Food was great and the hottie serving us was even hotter!

Lets do it again and get the SOs involved also.

We also need to plan a ride to somewhere out of this valley.
