Re: Long Beach MC show

Hope you enjoy the show. BMW was well represented. Honda had their new Africa Twin there. And lots of strange custom bikes.

Re: Long Beach MC show

I was at the Long Beach show on Sunday. I went on Saturday because of the longer hours, but might change my mind in the future. Some people had lowered prices on items by Sunday afternoon. I picked up several books at discounted prices.

I like to go in order to see the small booths where people display the newest inventions and other motorcycle-related accessories and gadgets. This time, there weren't very many new ideas. There was a lot of unrelated carp, especially many booths selling travel packages and especially time-shares. Yuck.

I did get to try the NoMar tire changer for myself. The fashion model who was changing tires complained about bruises from the product, and I now understand why. I learned that there are many subtle details about using the product, and despite the leverage, many steps require a fair amount of brute strength. I have had my eye on one for a while, but it is hard to justify the cost when there is a specialty motorcycle tire changing shop around the corner that charges a very reasonable fee. The convenience of doing my own at home would be nice, especially because I need to change out my rear TPM sender soon. I will think about it some more, but at least I understand how the NoMar tire changers work. Here is an alternative that I think about, too:

Re: Long Beach MC show

I like that homemade version. Amazing how creative people can be!

How was the Africa Twin? It is getting a lot of attention before actually being seen. How was the attendance? I am thinking about going back to the show in Dallas in January but am not sure yet.
