What is the mileage contest?

Just received my BMW ON magazine in yesterday's mail. I read it from cover to cover last night, including the article on a "mileage contest", but did not find any opening statement or definition as to what the contest was. Is it a given that all are supposed to know what the contest is? Maybe I read the article too quickly...

I can assume the contest is for the most miles ridden in a year. Can someone please provide a tad more info on this, please?

TIA.

it's for a six month period

this year it starts april 8th - oct 8th

take the form out of the mag, Saturday teh 8th find two bmwmoa members or take the bike to dealer and have them verify your mileage and sign it, mail the form in before the 15th then in oct take the finishing form do the same and send it in

Thanks Tom!

I take it the contest runs April - October so our brethren in southern climes can't count their miles all year long! I may just sign up for this. I don't see myself as a LD aficionado just yet, but I can ride 100 miles a day just to work and back.

I'll have to keep my Alabama address, with the Vicky and Sheridan.. I'll never stand a chance finishing first in Tennessee..

Vicky moved from third last year to second this year in the women division, we had a Alabama guy (Bo) to get 37,000 plus and finish 6th overall in the Men's division...

I believe Doug Roorda finished third in Tennessee..

See you at Ironhorse in a few days...

Can you imagine if she didn't work a full time job let alone three jobs! I think she is working on high mileage bicyclist as well, she just wore out a crank set on a fairly new high end bike. <g>
