Last day of year MTE

"Last motorcycle ride of the year" :-) Let meet eat and then ride. We will be arriving between 11:30 and noon. Whether you ride or drive a car, all are welcome. Come meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. At the "PIG" on Saturdays, normally small planes fly in and enjoy the fine food. We enjoy sitting outside and relaxing and watching the sights. Go ahead and mark your calendar now. We hope you a Merry Christmas and a safe holiday. Mike

I'll be there unless the roads are not too slick to ride. Can we make it for around 1:00pm instead of noon Mike.

I'm planning on leaving BMW Motorcycles of Charlotte at 10:30 & want to give the frost time to burn off the back road bridges.

That makes sense. Temps are supposed to be much cooler this week than they have been. I thought the days off from work that you're taking might have spoiled you a little.

Jeff - I'm sorry for your loss. Surely I'll meet you in 2012 some time.

The rest of you - Yes, please be easy on the newbie. Hopefully I'll have her registered and street legal by Saturday. The DMV isn't the easiest agency in our beautiful state to satisfy.

Re: Last day of year MTE

Thanks to everybody who attended the MTE aka RTE. We had 47 riders show up. The weather was perfect, mid 60's. A good time was had by all. Several small airplanes came and took off, as we eat. The next time you see Saddleman (Dave) ask him about his special award he received.

We have been asked about next year. We are thinking about the last Saturday of the year. Now that a year away, we'll see. Also, I hope somebody took a picture or two. If they did would you please them. Thanks in advance. Be safe, Mike

Re: Last day of year MTE

I have some pics to put up of the end of the year MTE! What a great time. Excellent BBQ and fixins. Good ride to see good friends.

Pictures are of 1) stop in Albemarle, NC 2) Mike said "Bring that tall, bald-headed fella with you", so we did. 3) Long distance rider award. He came from MD!

Re: Last day of year MTE

Here are some more. 1) Dave contemplating a new ride, wondering what the final drive failure rate is 2) Our group and then some 3) Dave receiving the "Golden Fork" Award 4) Michael "MC" Dale

Mike presented Dave with the Golden Fork Award, because "Dave brings the most people to RTEs and makes sure he takes folks to eat often. Generally being a heck of a great guy!"

Anyone who knows Dave, knows this to be true. He'll ride at the drop of a helmet and offer to help with anything quicker than that! Congratulations, Dave. And thanks from all of us who are somewhat mechanically challenged!

Well Rich I reckon I could work on my pilots license & bring enough nickels to fly the Pik N Pig plane next year . I'm glad you got to make it even though we got separated on the ride there.

Re: Last day of year MTE

What a perfect day for a MTE (RTE). Picture perfect weather from start to finish. I think we had 14 leave from Mark & Gail's BMW Motorcycle Dealership in Charlotte at 10:30 & we gathered up Sid & his son Landon a few miles down the road. For the next 280+ miles (round trip) we never got separated once because of traffic lights or turns. Great riding guys

.It sure was nice to have the school bus yellow Gold Wing riding tail gunner so I could keep track of the last bike in my mirrors. A big thanks to Mike for putting this together & I hope it continues each year. I think we had about 25 or so show up from the Charlotte area. That's great for such a short notice .

Any question's about the pic's just ask.
