Deals gap

I'm still considering riding from ME to AZ via deals gap this coming week.

What will the temp difference be between cities I can get wx forecasts for like Knoxville and the mountains?

Re: Deals gap

Probably not too much elevation change. If you get temps for Robbinsville, NC, you should be good. Might be a little chilly at night and early morning. Should warm to near 60 during the day.

Re: Deals gap

Temperatures for the Deal's Gap area are all over the map for coming week. Highs going from mid 60's to 70 then back down to mid and high 50's. Lows are the same, going from mid 30's then to 40's and then back to low 30's and upper 20's. Chance of showers on Wednesday & Thursday. Use Robbinsville as your forecast as some sights will use Murphy, NC which is further away. This might work.

We were up in the area at the Iron Horse last weekend and rode the Cherohala Skyway and had ice in the trees and snow on the ground off the the roadway but NONE on the roadway at the higher elevations.

Re: Deals gap

They closed the National Park last weekend because of some freak early snow. At least thats what I was told. Plus 1 and keeping an eye on the weather.

Re: Deals gap

thanks for the tips.

I was out riding after sunset last night. My temp gauge dropped below 40F. My gerbings kept me warm,

So i think I'm all set for mid 30s to 70s.

Re: Deals gap

At the top of the Cherohala Skyway last weekend, my thermometer was showing 33 and mine is usually dead on. But as soon as we started descending towards Robbinsville, it quickly warmed back up into the mid 50's.
