Question Tech Session ?

I'm thinking of doing a tech session next month or early Oct.. It would be to install the Fix It Before It Breaks kits from LT Trunk Latch (Evan Guy). Evan has plenty of kits in stock now & I don't know if he will be machining any more.

Give me some Saturday dates that will work & if you want the latch kits installed. Maybe we can do enough for a discount.

Re: Tech Session ?

Sounds good to me Dave. Any Sat. will work. Let me know if I need to order the kit or if you're going to buy in bulk and sell on site.

Do you think we might be able to fix the central locking mechanism while we're in there?

Location? NC?

Don't need either one, but it would be fun to get together and you both if the schedule is open. A great time of the year to be riding too.

Re: Tech Session ?

I'm in the Greenville, SC area. Where are you looking at having this? I've got a '99 LT with a lot of trunk issues and very little money to fix anything. I'd be interested in what you're looking at.

October would be better for me...we've got a lot going on in Sept...like a Motorcycle Skills Day on Sept 24 if anyone's interested.

Thanks!

I'm just north of Charlotte NC. Go to the home page under vendors click on LT Trunk Latch.

I will be there if not working. Dont need a latch, replaced mine a while back.

Re: Tech Session ?

It looks like you are 3-4 hours from the Iron Horse Lodge in Stecoah, NC. Would it make sense to swing over your way to or from SMFR? I'm probably going to be there, and that event is 10/20 - 10/22.

Just trying to find a way to have this valuable fix done to my LT before the latch breaks.

Howard,

If you can't make to Dave's place we can always install it at Ironhorse during SMFR.

Sunday would work better if you can get monday off. That way we could get the drain hole for the clutch cyl. drilled and install a new rear brake rotor all at the same time. If for some reason we couldn't finish on sunday you can ride my other LT home on monday & I would meet you halfway later to swap bikes back.

Have you come up with a date yet? I still have not done my valve check, would like to do that sometime if possible.

Re: Tech Session ?

I'm not sure if my trunk latch has been replaced or not, but I do know that I need to have the assembly over on the left rebuilt (where the belt attaches). Previous owner just used a wood screw. Very sloppy and has actually screwed through to the outside of the rim...but I guess it works.

Oct. 15 works for me too!

What is SMFR? Haven't heard of that before.

It is my wife's Birthday that day, maybe she wont mind if I give her the credit card and tell her to go buy something nice for herself.

We do have dinner reservations for that evening though, so it should be good.

Put me down for one on a group buy if you get enough. Don't have any input on a date until return from CCR.

Just got back from looking at the items on display for the silent auction for the CCR tonight and there's two fix it before it brakes kits. If your planning on attending the tech session I would be willing to place a bid for you. PM me before 8:00 pm eastern time for your max bid.

Hey Mike, just give me the card. You can take her to Dave's house for the day. I know she would enjoy it just like my better 1\2.... I promise I won't hurt it to bad

Hey Mike either way plan on getting your frame tig welded here on the 15th of Oct. I'll have it all set up for a early afternoon weld. I figure about 4 hrs. of prep work on sat. morning.
