Turning 60 at Ironhorse Lodge

I was given the choice of a party at home or a trip to Ironhorse Lodge to celebrate this milestone. It was a no brainer!! Jean and I will be heading up Friday the 22nd and depart Sunday. If any one wants to swing by for dinner Saturday the CBS's are on me.

John,

Looks like you are hitting middle age....

I'd love to ride up and join you on your special day (and just might if the new bike gets in on time) but presently I'm bike-less in Tampa. Riding up that way is on my addenda as soon as I get through the first 600 miles (by the end of the 2nd day) and a fluid change. Buddies in WV have got some great new routs ready.

Hope it's a great birthday and you have super riding weather in the Smokies....

We will be in the area riding for a few days. Maybe we will stop by, wish you a happy birthday, and camp a night or two. I will be up there again with the MTF in September. I love riding that area.

Wish you could add me to stopping down for a CBR, but I will be in Bloomsburg, PA with a few other beemer fans by then.

I have to agree with your no-brainer. Great place to have your b-day.

Only if he buys us a CBS, and that's after he buys us all lunch at Pisgah

I'll let Lee and Dave pick up enough "donations" along the way down and pitch in and buy John and Jean's dinner!

Re: Turning 60 at Ironhorse Lodge

I tried the same thing mid week.
Elusive club I might say so. Only I did not have any big fanfare. The weekend before was great rode to St. Louis for a birthday party no mine. Great weather, safe trip and food. Monday morning 30 minute rain storm and 70mph winds took out my power. No lights, tv, or computer/internet for 3 days. So yes I will remember my 60th. And I could tell the grand kids where I was and what I was doing.
The only thing I got lit was an oil lamp. Did no even want to ride. So enjoy the club membership and have one for me. Make that have one on me.
ride safe

Here is Jonn after it took him an hour to blow out ALL of the candles, the temperature at Irohnorse rose 20 degrees last night

Charlene and the Irohnorse crew did a fantastic job with the "special" drinks, snacks and of course the Prime Rib!

Glad John posted and happy birthday!

No wonder it was so HOT today. 102 at my house. I knew John shouldn't have left the candles burning that long!

It was great seeing everyone and I'm with Brett. Kudos to the Iron Horse staff, Charlene, and Barb for pulling off another great weekend.

I can't wait to see some of the other pictures. I thought they'd be posted by now.

See y'all in Oct.!

Thanks to all of you for making this a party to remember. I had a blast even on the rainy ride to the Pisga Inn. Not only does the center stand work but so does reverse!!!
