Smile Finally back in the saddle

Last year this time I had to sell my 03 LT. It was a sad day for sure. The new owner was nice enough to send me a picture of him carving the Dragon. Just wished I would have kept that cup holder.

But after a year of living vicariously I decided to sell the car and start riding. I flew into Monroe, LA this past Tuesday and picked up an 05 LT with just under 6K miles. We did the deal at the airport and 30minutes later I was on my way back to Atlanta. It felt strange at first, not having ridden even once in the past year. But it was great.

Fortunately my old comm system connections still worked on the VoiceII and I was able to listen to my MP3 player on the way back home.

So I've got two things to work out -

1) Getting the full City Navigation online - currently the unit (Nav II) has a 512MB flash card. What size is required to hold everything?

2) Getting a bluetooth connection going with the VoiceII. I'll start looking through the Comm board to see if someone has solved that.

Lastly does anyone have a recommendation for a one piece summer suit? Something for short trips to the office?

Congrats on the bike, as far as the one-piece suite, try Olympia but I am not sure what the name of it is. BMW of Atlanta carries Olympia.

Howard Schisler did a major study on one-piece suits a while back, you may want to tap into his knowledge.

If you find an Olympia you like, Tellico Motorcycle Outfitters in Tellico Plains, TN has better pricing than I've seen anywhere. They'll ship whatever you want to wherever you are. HTH

Re: Finally back in the saddle

Glad you are back in the saddle. I got a good deal on an Olympia Stealth one piece with the day-glo sides from Mike at Telico. he had th eones in the store marked down and drop shipped my size at the same price. I have been very happy with it on my daily commute. Infact I wear it into the building and hang it at my desk. That way it is nice and cool for the ride home. In heavy traffic a quick stand in the foot pegs (and up into the air flow) makes it feel like standing infront of an AC unit. It does not have a removable liner so you have to use something external for those afternoon thunderstorms. So far 98 degrees in North Alabama has been very comfy. It has great armor in it too including back protection.

I bought a used 05 with Nav II, and had problems downloading the software, and updating the maps. (something to do with the unlock code) Contacted Garmin and they sent an email with a " fix" to my problem. The flash card was not an issue.

Hope this helps, Chris Ogle

Re: Finally back in the saddle

Thanks for tip about Mike in Telico, I'll stop by and check him out.

Unfortunately my Nav II didn't come with an unlock code or DVD so I'm shopping around for one now. And I'm trying to determine if I can upgrade the internal flash card from 512MB to 2GB. I'd like to load the entire NA City Navigation data on it at one time.
