Ride To the Airborne & Special Ops Museum

Some of us are riding over Memorial weekend sat. May 29th to meet & tour the Museum. It's located at 100 Bragg Blvd. Fayetteville N.C. Hours are 10:00 to 5:00 admission is free

Afterwards Michaeldale (Mike who lives nearby) will lead us to his home so we can kick tires & tell lies while he cooks all of us dinner on the grill Lets do a list to give Mike some idea of the amount of food he will need.

If I don't have to work all night Friday night count me in.

Re: Ride To the Airborne & Special Ops Museum

Looking forward to seeing everyone and if you have not seen the museum. It is well done and must see. After our tour the plan is to make a short trip back to the "home place" and eat some burgers and dogs. If some of guys who live out of state. I have two guest rooms and plenty of yard for tents and such. All are welcome, just give me a head count.

Re: Ride To the Airborne & Special Ops Museum

I'm in, even without the meal on a grill. Just makes it that much better. Thanks Mike. I'm looking forward to it.

That's 4 so far with 1 definite "maybe". Hope you can work it out, Mike!

I'm leaning on meeting at the Concord Family Restaurant 921 Concord Pkwy. North at 7:00 am for breakfast. If we leave at 8:00 heading east on Hwy 73 to Albemarle & then take Hwy24-27 we should be a the Museum a little after 10:00.

I'm contemplating coming up with Hunter and now that Bruce and Ruth will be there that makes it all that more compelling. Haven't seen them in a couple years.

Re: Ride To the Airborne & Special Ops Museum

Lee sugested Punchy's Diner in Concord for breakfast & I think that's a better place than Concord Family Restaurant. The parking lot is nicer & we can park the bikes where we can see them. So Punchy's it is. I'll be there at 7:00 am & leave at 8:00 am.

Punchy's Diner 550 Concord Parkway North (Hwy 29) Concord NC 704-786-2222 It's across from K-Mart.

If your sitting on the fence trying to decide to make it or not let us know by the middle of next week so Mike has an idea of how much vittles he needs to cook.

Brett,
Depending upon how fast you go and traffic, Charlotte/Huntersville is about 5 hours from Atlanta. I'm not sure where Ringgold is.

PM sent.

Re: Ride To the Airborne & Special Ops Museum

Haven't been on the site for awhile. Work has been crazy (which is good).

Probably going to pass on this one. It would be an all-day just to get up there, plus to get back. Normally not much of an issue but the spouse finally returns from almost two months away and she hasn't decided if she wants to stay put for awhile or be back on the road.

Thanks for invite Lee, and I think it's great that Mike offered to grill for the gang! And I sure would like to see the museum!

Set the clock ahead a couple of hours after she's asleep. That works for me as long as I don't do it very often.

Looks like I'm going to make it after all. Hunter, who is 18, says he's too old to be riding on the back of my motorcycle so he may drive up in his Jeep with one of his buds. May be a couple others from the beach to join me but we will need to get back home Saturday night so will have to pass on the cook out. Looking forwarding to meeting some new folks and especially seeing some old friends......and did Brett anyone about his snoring?

I think we've all heard or at least heard about Brett's occasional, slight, noise-making problems that happen when he's asleep. Not snoring. No, couldn't be.

Is 15 miles far enough not to hear him?

I'm new to this group and would like the opportunity to visit the museum and meet y'all.
Are you all going to meet somewhere and then ride to the museum?
Can we bring something to the picnic after???
We are in Roxboro, about 2 hours North of Fayettnam.

Jim, it would be best to meet at the museum around 10.30 am, and then ride back with us to feed. Unless of course you want to meet the Charlotte group for breakfast at 7 am in Concord and ride with us. Glad to have you along either way.

Your more than welcome to sleep with the window open providing the bright lights & the noise from the cooling towers from the nuculer power plant down the street doesn't keep you awake. Or better yet send Jessie a pm & see if he can get them to power the plant down for the weekend.

On another subject Brett I'm taking a little ride to Nashville & back on sunday so if you want to leave early on sunday I'll take the long way there & ride with you on your way home.

Be happy to Lee. If it is bad weather my non Bmw riding bud will not be along. Too much silver stuff to clean up if his bike gets wet.

Will not be riding, but will be in the area on Saturday so I think I will see about bringing Ronda and Joshua along for the visit at the museum. Hate to miss it, but I doubt we can make the cookout at Mike's place, though.

Kitchen pass is approved. Hunter will come on four wheels if he and his buds get their parts out of the sack. This is the last week of high school for them so I'm not at all sure it will happen. I hope to stop over to your place for a short Mike before heading back to Black Biker Week, another good reason to get out of town to miss the lidless crotch rockets with thongs on the back with ladies (?) that should not be wearing thongs. Can you spell jiggle?

Was hoping to make it but now it looks like I'll be working Saturday.

Things might change and if they do, you all might see my smiling face.

It looks like it will be about a 900 mile day for me on Sunday so probably no later than a 7:00 am departure. I'm hoping to watch some night Drag Racing at I-40 Dragway on the way home.

Bad news, I called Dave around noon to say that I would not be able to make the ride and RTE this weekend. One of the big projects that I have been working (Part 2) unexpectedly hit about 11 this morning with three other dealers hitting me up at the same regarding the same project

And of course there were orders and service work to write up during this as well, I am glad to see our business pick up, JUST NOT TODAY!

I was looking forward to getting away for the weekend. I did not want to roll into Dave's house during the wee hours in the morning.

Y'all have a good time and have a hamburger for me.

Re: Ride To the Airborne & Special Ops Museum

Brett,
Did you really think Mrs. Brett would throw your stuff out in the front yard while you were gone for this trip? They always say that, but they never mean it.

Sorry you couldn't make the trip. It's awful when work gets in the way of a good time. There's always the next one. Or the one after that. Stay tuned for details of our upcoming rides.
