Smile Master Yoda - John

SPRING LT TRAINING CAMP

I sure appreciate John's ability to work on the LT.

The AM tech session on removing the rear end to get at the clutch slave cylinder was Very revealing. It's a job, but do-able. Drilling the hole in the perfect spot- well only John can.? I just need to buy a large torque wrench for the swing arm bolts. 140lb!

The afternoon session on bleeding the LT brakes- very good. I just need someone to go in with me on the BMW "stopper" that screws into the reservoir.

Then there's the Saturday evening electrical session- un-announced. One of the LTs was cutting all electrical above 3000 rpm. Lights, radio, & etc.

John figured that it had to be a bad ground. He pulled out his wife's laptop(?) and looked at the LT wiring schematic.....Hmmmmm.... has to be in this area... He called it (I think) the Load Relief Relay. This cuts all electrical and puts all battery power to the starter.

All grounds looked good and tight. With the battery out- he noticed a bolt (about 8mm) sticking further out the back of the starter---loose. With a long ball allen, it got tightened. Then Master Yoda announced to put all back together- "that's the problem". It was.

John, thanks for letting us observe your skills and talent.

David.
