Thanks John!!!

Thanks John for coming with you trailer to get us back to Ironhorse yesterday. Jan and I made it home last night on the tow truck with the broke bike. A low side at 50 mph wasn't much fun , but except for a few sore muscles we are ok. We are already looking for another GS and looking forward to the fall reunion. Here are a few pics of the bike.

Jan is still pretty sore and bruised, but apparently no broke bones. It turns out that I didn't come through quite as well though. After some xrays turns out that I broke my thumb and possibly have some ligament damage. That will keep us off the LT for a while, but we are both eager to get back in the saddle.

Man, that sucks. LaNett and I are glad to hear that you 2 walked away relatively ok. Sure you'll find just the right bike to replace her.

Take care.

With Jan being a nurse and all, I'm sure that she will take great care of you! Just glad you all are able to talk about it and walk away from it.

I had one of those low-sides last year, did some tupperward damage and that was about it, like you, I was doing about 50 in a 15 mph curve. Needless to say, I got my new Ohlins after that, DON'T scrape near as much as I used to!

BTW, where did you go down at?

It was just a mile or so past the store you come to after you pass the Fontana Village on 28. Nice down hill right handed sweeper.

As soon as I am able to ride again, Jan and I are going to go back up there and make that curve (about 10mph slower) .

My thumb is well enough so that I can ride again (with my hand in a splint). Saturday I'm picking up a new bike from BWM Motorcycles of Atlanta!

It's a pic of the bike like I'm getting, but it came off the internet. I have no idea what dealership that is.

Wicked gorgeous regardless of where it was taken. Glad that you are back up and at it. Your lowside made us better riders when we heard about your situation. Mend quickly!
