Early Training @ Ironhorse

I'm on spring break....woohoo....so I'm visiting my parents in Georgia this weekend 4/3-4/5 and on Monday I'm heading up to Ironhorse for a voluntary workout of the Dakar. Call it "Early Spring Training" Stop by if you can.
I'll be out riding, rain or snow or shine from Monday 4/5 until Friday 4/10 when I head for home.

Re: Early Training @ Ironhorse

Thanks, John............Well, I arrived at Ironhorse at 1pm on Monday and it was raining lightly. Got checked in to the new bunkhouse and have it all to myself (sorry, Brett).

By the time I got geared up it had changed over to snow. But I was not deterred. Off I rode west on 28 and then took Upper Tuskeegee to Yellow Creek and I wanted to do some gravel so I took the turn up Oldfield Gap road. Left on Meadowbranch and I'm at the Tapoca Lodge. Stopped at the dam for some pics and the cord from elec. vest decided to get caught in the frame of the bike. After reattaching the wires I was up to the Gap. Decided to stay away from that.....and head back to Ironhorse via 28.

It was snowing harder on the way back and it was collecting fast on the faceshield. Fortunately it wasn't sticking to the roads. I had a great time. I love this bike. Can't wait for it to warm up. High of 38 for Tuesday. I'll probably go riding again .

We have about one-half to an inch of snow this morn and it is still going. I'll try to post pix later. Hope this means it will be nice for STC.

Re: Early Training @ Ironhorse

Did you know that Tapoco Lodge is not opening for the 2009 season?

That sucks, besides IH, that is (was) a great place to stay.

Tell John and Charlene hello; I will be missing STC year, which also sucks!
