R.T.E. Groveland FL Saturday 2/11

Here we go again

Ride To Eat
Choctaw Willy's
214 broad St.
Groveland FL

Saturday February 11 @ 2pm

JHowdy
DaveDragon
Lynn_Keen
SilverBufallo

A few more unconfirmed possibles?
Patric and 2 K-bike riding friends?
Rusty_Jones if he gets his bike fixed?
Motorman587?
Charlieg? and friends?
Hoog62? and friend?

Choctaw Willy's can accomidate as many as show up,
the last time (last year) we had the backroom for ourselves.
With a little more notice and the centralized location we might attract a few more east coasters.

Hans,
If you want to do lunch earlier, that's fine with us. Rita just loves getting up early and being on the road at first light. Either way, we're looking forward to the Q.

Time to eat?

I was thinking that maybe Willy's could accomidate a large group better after their lunch rush is over, but it really doesn't matter to me. (I'm always ready to eat)

Why don't we put it up for a vote!

lunch at noon or 2pm?

whatdoyathink?

Man I wish we were down there this year so we could join you all for lunch. However, here we sit in the frozen northland.

Maybe, just maybe, the weather will be good enough to get the old girl out on Thursday.

Have fun!

Cool

As long as it does not snow, we will be joining the group for the lunchtime lies and other fun. Got the bike back up and running now. If it isn't working or some other disaster happens, I can always ride brand Suzuki over. Seriously, we should make it with no problem. Can't blame Woody this year for not riding, so I guess I'll have to be there. Can't wait. See all at noon or before.

Talking Still alive in Williston!

Hey Friends, I've been a little under the weather lately, but when I logged on and saw BBQ at Choctaw Willys again, I perked right up! Count me in for sure. Maybe Motorman could swing by the Purpleaire Llama Farm on the way down from Tally and we could hook-up and ride the rest of the way down. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and to meeting you new folks.

Where is Purpleaire Llama Farm? What time you want to meet and where? Sounds like a plan. I may have one or two with me, one on an RT and another maybe on an LT, if not he will be riding a Star something from Yamaha.

Hey John, Purpleaire is about 8 miles west of I-75 from the Irvine/Orange Lake (exit #368), about half way between Gainesville and Ocala. BTW, I hosted a tech session at Purpleaire last summer right before CCR. Dave Dragon, Lynn Keen, David Wright, John Rehder, Chuck Gittner and several others showed up. These folks will go just about anywhere for Bar-B-Q!! We did a bunch of wrenching and I fed 'em ribs, pork, beans and slaw. Anyhow, I could meet you guys at the Petro Truck Stop at exit #368 around 9 or 9:30. Your call on the time. Let me know if that would work or if you are coming down US19. Hope we can hook-up! For those of you over near the New Smyrna area, I plan on leaving form the gas station at 415 and 44 (across from the New Smyrna Speedway)around 10:00 AM. My plan is to ride 44 over to 19 and follow it to Groveland. Should take about 1-1/2 hours or so, I think. Anybody wanting to tag along be at the gas station or let me know here on the site or give me a call at 386-478-3049.

CD Swap??

Anybody interested is swapping out some of the CD's you have in the changer?
I am - and open to discussion!
Dave

Also was thinking.....
Choctaw Willy's has a big blank wall on the parking lot, and by the time we finish will probably be open. so anybody who wants/needs an avatar photo can have one taken. I'll bring my digital camera. I'm sure DD will bring one too.

I know, I have too much time on my hands

Sounds good to get my ugly mug made into an avitar so I can scare all of the site, not just you lucky ones here in Florida. See you Saturday.
I'd swap CD's but you would need to like the Doors and BTO and Eagles.

Jim, I'm riding over to Choctaw's, but I'm take'n a little longer route, back roads south to St. Cloud and Kissimmee then up to Groveland. About 150 mi. maybe 2-1/2 hr. Let me know if you want to go that route, I can still meet you at 44 and 415 an hour earlier. -Chuck-

This time I'm running a GPS so I'll find Choctaw Willie's, and - the best part - my way home!!

Charlie, I'll have to get back to you on that one. Is your better half going along with you? Hopefully mine is and depending on weather, a 8:30 or so start time might not suit her as well as an hour later. It's cold you know, (cold is 32 not 50 to me, not her). I'll let you kow tonight. Thanks.

Charlie and all from the Daytona area; we are not going to make the long ride south and then to Groveland. We are still planning on leaving from across from the New Smyrna Speedway at around 10:00 AM. See ya there!!!

I am sorry to said that I am not going to make it. There has been some certain issues today that I did not have control. I was hoping for the best, but I did not turn my way. First, I needed a 24000 mile service. I dropped my LT off last Tuesday. Remember I good friends with Dusty the owner. So I get thrown to the curb if some other repair or service comes in. He has been busy and he does take care of me. Anyway, my LT was almost finished and I believe the gentleman from Jacksonville got me bumped. Not a problem and I rather have the out of towner in first as I understand about good service. I had another motorcycle lined up. Well, work did not want to help out. There was death investigation in my district which cause the patrol officers to hold calls, which in true made motors answer crash calls. Not a problem either, just that I was going to pick up my replace motorcycle. In short, it did not work out and not going to make it. I will look forward for another RTE.

Sorry to hear that you are not going to make it down for the fun and lies. (Did I say lies), I meant to say the stories. Yeah that's what I meant. Take care and we will do this again I'm sure.

Great food and friends. The ride over to Groveland was way better than the ride back home. We hit rain in Eustis and had misting the rest of the way back to New Smyrna. Really need to do this a little more often. Marianne had a really good time and felt right at home. Great to see all again. Cannot wait for the next time.
Always fun to see the add-ons in person rather that in pictures. I'm looking into the Micck-O-Pegs, a solution to a real issue. More lights or the pegs are the next farkle, I hope.

Great ride on the way to Willy's,
Wet ride all the way home.
We all got so engrossed in telling stories (all true) we forgot about the aproaching cold front and rain, until the sky turned black.
The parking lot cleared out in about 60 seconds.

I think we should do this again around the middle of March, anyone have a suggestion for the location?
