Where would be a good place to have a Florida RTE

The weather sure is getting nice down here and it would be a real good time
for some of the "local" boys (and girls) to ride someplace to "eat, greet and meet".

I'm looking for some ideas for a place,
that could accommodate lets say 20-40 riders and passengers,
sorta centrally located so "we" can come from all corners,
preferably close to some interesting roads
rather than in the middle of a city.
with good and reasonably priced food,
and windows so we can see our bikes etc.

Do any of y'all know of a place like that?

Poncho Villas - San Antonio - Curly and Main just north of SR52.

Farmer John's - Brooksville - SR50

If you like sh1tty Italian food there is Papa Joe's in Brooksville across from the Hess. Did I mention they have the worse food ever? But somehow people still eat there.

Kountry Kitchen - Brooksville - 518 SR50 by pass

Frog's landing in Cedar Key. Second floor and you see your motorcycle parked in the street. Been there a couple of time, very good sea food.

Blackwater Inn in Astor. Very good food also.

Red Wing Restaurant on Rt 33 south of Groveland. They have an outdoor screened room that I think could handle our group. Been there several times for dinner. Good food, not cheap but reasonably priced.

Re: Where would be a good place to have a Florida RTE

Poncho's Villa in San Antonio, used to be our favorite Mexican restaurant,
we had an RTE there a few years ago,
unfortunately the owner went through a divorce and sold the place this summer,
the food isn't that good anymore.

Cedar Key is a nice ride but not really centrally located.
Blackwater Inn looks interesting and worth checking out.

I sent an Email to the Redwing restaurant in Groveland requesting their lunch menu

Good suggestions that's a couple of restaurants I'm gonna hafta try out,
not like I need an excuse to go for a ride and eat.

keep 'em coming

Although not centrally located and you have to park along the street (but it is a small town - there is really only one street) - Marsh Landing in Fellsmere. Good home cooking, reasonably priced and they have a large side room that could accommodate a fairly large group.

The Red wing lunch menu is on the WEB Site that I referenced; http://www.redwingrestaurant.com/home.html
Don't know if it's up to date but I suspect it's pretty close. If you'd like to ride up this way some day to check it out let me know and I'd be pleased to meet you there.

I've ate at the Blackwater and the food is pretty good. No complaint on the grouper for sure. They have a website: http://www.blackwaterinn.com

Re: Where would be a good place to have a Florida RTE

Just an update to this thread,

this past Friday Lynn Keene, his lovely wife Janet met my wife and I
at the Redwing restaurant for lunch.

We had the (genuine) Buffalo burger, it was excellent,
next time I'm going to have to try the fried green tomatoes.

The owner Chris showed us around and was enthusiastic
about our tenative plans to have an RTE there.

Afterwards Lynn led us on a ride over Sugarloaf mountain for some great scenery and vistas
(for Florida) on our way to the "Keene estate" where we "chatted" the afternoon away.

The Redwing meets all of the criteria for an RTE
and I'm going to start another thread with an attendance roster.

http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40959

Hope to see y'all there.

Re: Where would be a good place to have a Florida RTE

Sugar Loaf Mountain... Man does that bring back memories.
We used to ride out there before the houses went up.

I forgot another GREAT place to meet in FL.

At the end of Ozello Trail there is a very good seafood restraunt.
Ozello is between Crystal River and Homosassa Springs West of US 19.
