Hotel in Selma NC Area

I'm doing a short road trip Oct 8-13 and will be looking for a hotel in the Selma NC area on Oct 12th. Selma is just past half way home for me as I head north. I know there are a lot of places along Rt 95, I just want to find something cheap, but nice, if there is such a thing.
If there is a better place north of Selma that may work too.

Thanks

Re: Hotel in Selma NC Area

Can't give you specifics, but right next door is Smithfield and the Outlet Stores (JR Cigars is there... huge but I personally don't care for the selections there). Lots of restaurants and I've seen some chain hotels right off the interstate. I'm sure a google search would find something reasonable.

Can't speak to Selma- don't recall seeing any but I'm sure there are some there.

Thanks, in fact JR's is one of my stops on the way home. I'm getting into cigars and I plan on picking up a few.

I had googled that area and found a lot of places, but I figured I'd ask here and see what happen. I'm continuously surprised at the wealth and depth of knowledge on this forum. I figured someone passed through the area and may be able to make a suggestion.

Kind of slim pickins in Selma.

There is a brand new Comfort Inn in Lumberton next to a Country Inn & Suits off Robinson Rd just off I-95 which are near several decent places to eat.

Just spent the night this week in the area. There is Hampton, Holiday Inn Express and a couple of more. You should have no problems finding a place.

Re: Hotel in Selma NC Area

I did a Google on the area and saw a bunch of places. I plan on making a reservation prior to leaving. I just didn't want to take a shot in the dark on something that looked good on the website but was either in a bad area or a stinker. I also did want to get to the area and then have to hunt around for something.
