IB B'Dayride??

Well I'm considering a IB for my B'Day. And I need some advice.. Going from Denison, Tx to Greenville , SC. in a round about way. part will be to run I40 from Memphis to Stateville N.C. then I77 to I85 into Greenville,S.C. I am totaly unaware of this section of road so any thoughts, suggestion would be appreciated. You know like time of day to be here and not there, etc.

Re: IB B'Dayride??

Hi, Bill. You will want to stay away from I-77 southbound from Statesville to Charlotte weekday mornings from 7ish until after 9:00. Traffic backs up and you don't go anywhere. I-85 isn't too bad morning or afternoon.

If you'd like directions to go "through the woods", let me know. It may cut a few miles off the trip, because you'll travel to Statesville, down 77 a few miles, then turn off 77 travelling east then south, missing Charlotte.

I-40 eastbound is one major patch-job now in Catawba County, NC, mile markers 121-138. Lots of bumps and dips. Hwy 70 won't be as fast due to traffic, but goes the same way.

Sounds like the makings of a great trip. Good luck. Let me know if I can help with some route info.
