Are we hungry yet? May RTE

Well, we got through April without a RTE, but we did have STC III thrown in there, so now it is time to look forward to May. Somebody said we needed to try south again so how about May 19? (Looked at the calendar wrong originally. Picked Sunday instead of Saturday.)

Hey, isn't Newnan where Hawg lives?? Maybe he'll buy if you invite him nice!!! He doesn't git on here much anymore, so an e-mail might do the trick. Have fun, y'all.

And hey, Steve - that Paula Deen gal down in Suhhhvanner; she and her boat pilot hubby ride a scoot; how neat would an RTE be at her place?!?!?

I'm not sure many in our little group are like you hearty Tejas folk and want to do a 600 miler round trip just for lunch. I know Connie won't go for that. Her max is just over 300 for the day.

I live 4 miles north of Sprayberrys. and could show you Northsiders some really cool roads down my way. Unfortunately I will be doing an overnighter to Chattanooga/Little River Canyon that weekend.

This is my first time on this part of the site. I will keep checking in and maybe we can hook up and ride another weekend.

Smile Re: May 19th, Saturday

Steve and all:

Unfortunately, that is the day I plan to be at Road Atlanta for the Year One Experience. I've had that on my schedule for over 3 months and do expect that is one date I can keep, barring rain. I do not start out in the rain!

As for right now, 9 days and counting, unless I change my mind.

Just a word about Atlanta RTE/RTMs

We don't hardly ever cancel these just because the crowd gets small. We've had folks show up in the past that don't sign up on the list. As a matter of fact, we don't cancel them because of the weather (that's what cages are for) 'cept maybe for ice and snow, but we all know Atlanta closes down when that happens. Anyway we're still on for Saturday around 11:30 I reckon.

Al, if you want to meet and ride down together that will be fine, PM me and we can talk.

Hey folks, unless something changes, like the moon lining up with sun and stars and I just can't ride... I headed that way, will do 151 south to Hwy 100 on the West side of State and pick up 27 at I -20....

Then..........

Saturday night, I want to check out Mabelton and the Ampthreater.... The Manhattan Transfer has a concert there... (tell how old I am) but good Blues mixed with Swing music... So you if you don't have plans... plan on joining me there... I may opt for the Grassy Hill side under the Stars if not raining...

See you at the BQ place....Steve, there is just one there by that name....right???

No there at two. Just make sure you get the right street address. This on happens to be on US-29 north of I-20. The second location is in a strip shopping center on the south side of I-20.

Over and done

Well, it ended up being a small group meeting at Sprayberry's today. Dave, the rider formerly known as "hawg", Don Norwood (after going to the wrong place again ), Al and Jan Strickland, Connie and myself. I think Don and Al did the biggest damage with half slabs of baby backs, but the fellowship, as always, is the best.

And just a few pics.

I didn't sign up for the meet cause I thought I was having company. Company didn't show so off to Newnan to the NEW Sprayberry's. I didn't look at the add. I thought the old Sprayberry's closed when they opened the new store. I sat around for about an hour and left. I thought about the old store about an hour later and came in here and checked the add. Sorry we missed you Darren. I looked at the calendar wrong originally and had put Sunday's date down when I started the thread on April 30. When I double checked the date and found out I goofed up, I made the change on May 2. Most of the time if I'm setting these up, they will almost ALWAYS be on a Saturday. I like to ride and eat as well as the next person, but I also like to make Sunday worship.

I've got a couple of friends coming in next month for a couple of weeks. Watch for a RTE/RTM so that I can introduce them to some of the South East folks.

On His Ride,
Steve
