Lightbulb Fenders Diner - March 24 RTE

I know this is short notice, but how about Fenders Diner in Cornelia, GA? I've eaten there in the past and the food is good and it has the ambience of a 1950's style diner. So what do you think, about 11:30?? BTW, the reason I picked the 24th is so that Connie can come to this month's RTE.

Yes Al, I did mean the 24th. BTW, unless it is snowing or we got 6 inches of ice on the road, I expect to see you and Jan on two wheels. New helmets and all!!!!

You Bet!!!

Unless I am mistaken, the BMWOGA dealer coffee is at Blue Moon next Saturday morning. Should we meet up there first and then ride up to Cornelia?

Steve and all:

The place sounds good, but right now my silver bird is setting on the lift table in parts. Now my work load is what depends on it being back together and with that said, the odds are not in my favor. So it iis "wait and see" from Cindy and I. Thinking of that, I need to order that tire I need to replace.

OK, for my 1000th post (this should get the administrators off of my back); if I can get the bike out of BMW of Atlanta in time I will should be able to make it.

If not, I will have to catch you next time.

We need to get a RTE to Ezell's Catfish House (not sure of the town) one Saturday. It would be about a 600-700 mile ride for lunch. Great catfish and stuff!

Thumbs up

My wife and I are planning on attending as well. We are about to depart for Alaska and one last ride before we leave would be great. Weather report says it may hit 80 on Saturday.

May we never find the end of the road!

Teresa and I will try and be there assuming I can get her away from work, "tax season", but pencil us in.

And I think meeting up at Blue Moon for a pre-funk is a good idea'r. Set up a good time and I'll be there. And bring that jacket Al so I can try it on! Not sure if I can afford it now that I just spent $1200 on a new Rally 2 and Commuter jacket from my dealer since I was feeling guilty for not buying my bike from them, haha. ~dk

I am planning on being at Blue Moon at 9:00 and head up toward Cornelia between 9:30 - 9:45.

The jacket is gone, but like I said, it is too hot for summer. You would have been disappointed with it.

meeting up

All,

Sure would like to meet up with you guys. I live between exit 4 & 8 on I-985. I could meet you guys in Cornelia or join you on the way up. Just let me know.

Perry, It will be good seeing you again. I now have 300 miles on my Rick Mayer seat. Still breaking it in. I'm still getting used to the bike and now finally have my backrest adjusted right...I think.

Looking forward to it,

Michael Ledwell

Darren, It was great to meet you and Teresa yesterday. We hope that you two make more of our little gatherings. As for Al, Jan Jay, Gilda, Gruvis, Ron, John, Cindy, and those that have made one of out little shindigs yet, we missed you.

Bad news on Al and Jan not making it due to . . . . . . well we won't say what kind of issues. But they just need to know that somebody else did the same thing and we had to jump them off in the parking lot.

Here's a few picks of the crew and the inside of Fenders Diner.

Saturday at Fender's

First off, great pictures Steve. I have a camera but don't always think to bring it. You do a better job anyway.

Also great to meet everyone. Hope to do it again soon.

Perry and Cherie, we'll see you in a couple of months.

Cool Saturday, not at Fenders

Folks: Sorry we had to miss things. Sure was a great riding day, the place looks great from the pics Steve, and I'm sure we missed some good company and good food. Oh, I did go riding, but it was on the JD, mowing the yard.

I'm off the 1st week of April, will be in Atlanta that Monday, the 2nd. Don't know where else I will go, but I do plan to put on a few miles, maybe up to choo choo town. Been wanting to see the TTC for some time now. Anyone else interested, let me know.

Mr Carver, if you get to Chattanooga you will have to give me a shout. We can also see if Don is in town and maybe we can do ride or do the dinner thang!

I did not leave BMW OF Atlanta until 2 or so Saturday. All was not lost as I saw our own REWDOC up from Columbus, Ga. and spoke with Ashton Brown with the Food Network.
Me and REWDOC was able to take Linda's car and went down the road to a family-owned "Q" joint, had some good BBQ and Collards. It was good to visit with ya' REWDOC, hope you had a safe trip back.
While I was talking to Ashton, he remembered me and Doug Roarda talking to them at one of the pull-offs on the Cherohala Skyway (he remembered Doug's LT because he also has a Champagne LT!) while they were filming the Feasting on Asphalt last year. He said that they will be doing another type of feasting on ashpalt very soon; they will be traveling up the Mississippi RIver from top to bottom. BMW Of Atlanta's own Bobby Woolridge will be helping out with this one!

Anyway, sorry I missed the Fender's Q and maybe we can catch the next one!

Stuck in the gate

Sorry I missed you guys.

I thought I had hay fever but then started to run a temp of 102. Turns out it was strep throat. So my only trip was to the doctors office and back to the couch.

At least I can live vicariously through Steve's pictures.

I don't have a day carved in concrete yet, but offhand it is looking like Tuesday, weather dependent. Oh, one more major criteria, got to get the new rear rubber on. Shoot me some contact info, my cell is 706-453-6870, home email is [email protected].

Besides, Gilda was on some rowboat all over the Carribbean, and I was at an MSF conference in WV.
