Made it to the Parkway, but not Ironhorse

Sorry that I missed meeting all of you at the Ironhorse.
Seems like nothing I plan works out that way, after my rear drive failed the first day of our trip we spent the next week and a half waiting to get the Buffalo back, between waiting for parts and a day of no power at the bike shop due to a hurricane I finally got my bike back on Weddnessday.
Thursday Am we headed north, by the time I thought about calling the ironhorse it was too late, by the next day the cabin I had reserved and then canceled was gone. That wasn't going to stop me from riding the Parkway and seeing some colored leaves. We ended up staying in a motel in Waynesville and waking up to 32 degree temps, headed on up to the Parkway, couldn't find much in the way of color except brown, but did take an interesting picture (attached).
Sunday morning was colder (30) we left, now we are headed for Texas hill country I hope its warmer because NC this time of year ain't no place for a Florida boy.
Somewhere in Tennessee and west bound

Missed Iron Horse but had a nice ride

We had a little riot at one of the High Schools thursday and I wasnt sure that I would be able to leave Friday but nothing else happened and I left for the mountains about 11am. No room at Iron Horse so I went to Pigeon Forge. Met some nice guys from Oklahoma on 441, they were going to Iron Horse on Sat. Someone made off with my GPS while I was making a second load and it pretty much bumbed me out. I left and went to the Gap. Not much traffic except for a big truck with about 10 tons of hay. I had lunch and thten went to Iron Horse to see if anyone was left. I didnt see anyone there so I took the long way home. It was a bit cool but still a good ride. Hope you have a good ride through Texas. Hope your mechanical troubles are over.

don't ya just hate a thief

Damn Bud I'm sorry to hear about your GPS, this is the kindoff thing I worry about all the time, as riders we are constantly vulnerable to these lowlifes. What grinds me the most about this is that they steal for greed or just the opportunity. I am a firm believer in what comes around goes around and the thief will get his, unfortunately you or I probably won't be around to see it, but be assured it will happen.

One day, these punks will find the wrong end of a gun or a bat!
Sorry about the GPS. I know that our stuff can be replaced but the idea of some lazy and dishonest thug stealing OTHER people's stuff just gets my goat!

BTW, you missed a great time at Ironhorse; most of us were gone by 11:00 AM Sunday morning.

Hey Bud, sorry I missed you, I stayed around Ironhorse all day Saturday playing host... I met the two guys from Oklahoma, the Pittmans, Father and Son, Father on LT and Son on RT... nice guys and they told me that they talked with you...you made a lasting impression on the guys, thanks for sending them over to Ironhorse, it turns out that the son lives near Brett and I in Chattanooga area, so we will try and keep in touch with him.

Sorry I missed you...
