Arkansas This Weekend 5/24 to 5/26/14

Just found out I'll be off this Saturday , Sunday & Monday so I was thinking I would go to Arkansas for a little riding time. Anyone interested in a quick trip north?

I've made no plans yet as I only found out about an hour ago I was able to be off.

Sounds like fun, but I am still in Florida. Last time I went, we stayed at the Cruise Inn Motel near Eureka Springs. Nice little motel that likes bike riders. The room I stayed in had an RT Poster for wall deco.

Got a room at the Best Western in Russellville. A friend from the K1600Forum will be staying there also. Weather looks great so I can't wait.

Steve,

You seem to be a guy like me that loves food. While in Russelville try the La Villa Italian place.

The Cruise Inn is actually in Kimberling City, MO. Great place to stay if you own a bike. Older but clean. Motorcycle themes in all the rooms. Nice big overhang on the front for the bikes if it rains. Might check the weather, Steve. 40% chance of rain here starting Thursday running through Saturday. That would normally put it in Arkansas Friday through Sunday. Then again, any prediction over twelve hours in advance is a coin toss and it's only Tuesday.

Thanks Dean I've heard about the Cruise Inn but already have rooms booked. As for the weather is shows 20% rain all weekend with temps 65 to 85.

Re: Arkansas This Weekend 5/24 to 5/26/14

Made it to Russellville about 3:00 this afternoon. Ran into rain twice, The fist time I was in small town in east Texas & was able to put on the rain gear before getting wet. The second time I was on hwy 27 in Arkansas a few miles past a little town when the bottom fell out & I got soaked. The rain lasted about 10 miles & I was dry after about 15 miles after the rain. I have a few pics but have not downloaded them yet. I'll get them up in a bit..

Glad you had a good trip. We had rain ALL DAY on Tuesday traveling through East Tejas.

In every bike trip, a little rain must fall?

I had very little the first two day. But from Plano Tx to home it rain 90% of the time. The last 80 miles from south of Waco was so hard at times I could only see 30 feet in front of me.

That is just too much for me. I would find a place to hide till it got better if it was so hard that I could only see 30 feet.

Wow! How'd you get separated from the seat when you got home?!?! The pucker factor must have been tremendous.
