End of an Era

After almost 7 years in business I am putting ASAP Motorcycle Service up for sale. It has been a fun ride & I've meet many good people but it is just time for something new in my life. The business it making money & shows about 15% +- net profit every year. It does require a LOT of your time. If anyone here if interested or you know anyone who is please let me know. I'm offering to sell it as a whole (truck, trailer, phone number, business name, E-Mail address & website). I have built up a very good rapport with the majority of dealers & shops in the Central Tx area & have a lot of returning customers.
Thanks for all your support over these last 7 years.

Hey, Stevie - best to you in your next adventure. I've been fortunate to watch you establish your well-earned reputation from the git-go, as well as enjoying some tire changing experiences with you over the years. Tire dismount and new install in a parking lot on a windy 32 degree morning, a long lasting memory!!! Cya soon.

Hey, Stevie! Good luck with a timely sale and best wishes for your next adventure. Maybe we can get a Saturday RTE going in the near future.

+1 for the Saturday RTEs. Congrats on moving on and good luck with the sale. You can be proud of the business you built.

It is time for more of the old days RTEs to enjoy.

Jim I will still do tires as always. The tire machine is not part of the sale. I do plan on taking a month or two off once I sell the business but already have a plan to keep working for a few more years before I retire completely. I'm not going to talk about what's next for me till I get all my ducks in a row, Cross all my I's & dot all my T's.

Stevie let me in on a little secret . . . his next adventure has something to do with male dancing (at least that is what he said!) As always Stevie, we will support ya.

Now you will be available for RTE's and PIE! Yum. We just got a new 2014 bike with heated seats, all the bells and whistles and so we are hitting the road once again. TN trip next week.

Re: End of an Era

Time for an update. After a few months of trying to sell the business & having no luck I have closed ASAP Motorcycle Service. As of 08/01/15 it is no longer. I've sold most of it assets, have someone coming to look at the truck today. I'm keeping the trailer for personal use. It has been fun most of the time but being on call 25/7 was very taxing on me mentally. Never have any free time to do things with friends & family. The business was making money & afforded me a few trips every year but I was never away from the business as I still had to field phone calls from whom ever I had running the business for me.

Now for my next adventure.....
Tomorrow I head to Katy Tx to go back to school for 6 days to get my All Line Insurance Adjuster license. Once that is done I plan to take a little time off for the next few months. Get some rides in, go visit some friends around the area. On August 11th (day after I get home from school) is Sammie's & mine 30th wedding Anniversary so we have planned a trip to Europe for about 3 weeks in October.

We start off by going to visit Wolfgang in Budapest for a few days. Then take the train to Vienna Austria for 3 days, next to Venice Italy then Rome for 3 days each. From there we fly to Geneva Switzerland for 3 days, next on to Nice France. From there we fly to Paris then home to Texas.

Once home for a few days I'll start looking for a job. I have a few leads already so I hopefully will not take long to be back in the working class.

Re: End of an Era Next update

I have been home from school for a week now & it has been a very busy week. I past the class being in the top 5% of it. I was also certified in Xectimate ( software used by most insurance companies). I'm waiting on the state to send me my license but I have been filling out applications online with all the different companies our teacher told us to apply to. So far 3 of the 4 that I've sent out have accepted me to work for them. I can get work from all of them as I will be considered self employed and on contract not committed to any one for now). I still have 2 more to apply to.

The only down side is I still need to be certified by one of the big insurance companies (All State, State Farm) for property adjusting & that may not happen till early December as they only hold this class every quarter & I missed the one for this time period. Although I can get certified in auto sooner & work in that field till I can get into Property. More money in property then in auto.

Well this is what I've been up to along with riding more. I even took out the CB750 today as I finally got the license plates for it. I'll get the CB350's in the morning.

Re: End of an Era

The earlier, the better. You coming in thru Blanco? 281 south to a right on 473 thru Kendalia, to a left on 474. Come to the first stoplight and turn right, then go thru the next stoplight and turn immediately right, into the Dienger Trading Co. parking lot. DO NOT ride Hwy 46 from Bulverde to Boerne. Road construction and two school zones - it's a nightmare.
You have my number - call me Monday or on your way in Tues. FYI - thinking about riding 337 to Leakey for lunch at Chicken Earls.

Well I got home from Houston yesterday after passing both State Farm certification test with "A's". The next hurtle is to wait for the license to come in from the state then I can start working. I have be "activated" by 3 different companies (I'm contract employee) one of which paid for my Certification this week so as work comes available I can get it from all three. Once the license is in hand I can hit the streets running to find work.
