Remodeling Part Deux

In another thread I showed our fireplace being rebuilt. Now it is time for the stone to be recycled into a new mail box.
Here is a pic of the old fire place where the stone came from. Next is the new mail box. It took them less the 3 hours to built.

The pile of stone.

After 1 hour.

The finished product.

Re: Remodeling Part Deux

That's very nice - well done.

I guess the left side is for some of Sammie's plants?

That is for plants, a planter. Or, where the empty beer cans go.
That looks solid. Let's see those stupid hoodlum teenagers knock that one over.

Re: Remodeling Part Deux

Yes Howard, you know how Sammie loves her plants so we had to have a planter box. in the middle Picture you can see her 40 foot long 30 inch wide planter wall in the back ground. It starts at 4 foot tall & goes to 1 foot tall. Every 10 feet it drops 1 foot.

Nice, where'd you get the grey granite for the top?

It's a sheet of 1 1/2 inch thick limestone the rock mason brought. He chipped the edges to distress it.

Re: Remodeling Part Deux

Cool! Looked grey like granite. Must be the angle of the sun. Really looks nice, I'm sure Sammie will love it.
